sigh...

yeah i know... my Titles are getting unimaginative. not that my previous ones are noteworthy but thing is...really can't help but...sigh.

its more than anything a sigh of frustration. there are a lot of things about this place I find quite appealing...the somewhat 'slow' lifestyle, the somewhat laid back attitude of the locals, and the strict adherence to rules. At the same time, however... it can get to be a very big drag. it was good that my career's formative years were in an environment where 'sense of urgency' was paramount and constant. frequently doing engine breaks can be quite taxing at times. don't get me wrong, there are days though that things do get pretty hectic here also.

after two months now, I'd like to believe I've adjusted quite well to the environment/culture. I also feel that I have a long way to go. I cannot possibly be complacent nor become too relaxed. all in all, everythings just fine...I just wish for two things now, one: my family to be here with me as soon as humanly possible and two: my driver's license. that's in order of priority but I'd also like to get the license before my family comes over...for conveniences' sake.

whoa!

unbelievable, it's been a while since I last posted.

its already May and yes a lot has happened since. I got my residence card several weeks ago which meant I could start processing some other stuff like my house phone, my postpaid cel, etc. The apartment has had some new additions as well... a double bed with hot pink highlights on the frame, and a cabinet to match - now before you start concluding stuff, the bed's Viv's which I am using temporarily while I get our own. Hehe.... For the kitchen, bought Whirlpool Ref 500li (yes, they size up refs in liter terms this side of the world) and washing machine; Black & Decker Steam Iron, Microwave and Rice Cooker and currently, my most precious buy for now, a Samsung 32" LCD TV - which I haven't used at all coz I haven't found a dvd player I liked and I don't have cable subscription yet. In any case...things are moving along. My main bane right now is that I can't drive anymore. and the commute is not that easy...started getting used to it though. I have a cabbie friend now who I can trust and call to drive me around hehe...
