Big thanks to my wife!! Last saturday, we brought Vivian to watch the local stage version of High School Musical in SM Megamall Cinema 4. She's seen the TV movie version dozens of times and she always dances and sings along with the album track every chance she gets. and yes, my wife and I sing along with her too.
So, as expected, she was totally engrossed while watching the stage version. Except for frequent trips (as in like three times) to the comfort room, she intently watched the performances of Karel Marquez, as Gabriella, and the rest of the cast. Personally though, I thought Karel exuded a better Gabriella but Zac (Efron) was the better (cooler) Troy. All in all, not to say that the play wasn't entertaining in itself but the movie version was still better though. Hearing the songs sung live was a real treat for Viv though.
After the play, she got to meet some of the cast members. Sometimes she does get shy in these situation but this time, wasn't too hard to convince her ask for signatures and pose for pics. Can't help but wonder if she'll grow up loving the arts more than the nerdy/intellectual stuff... hopefully both. But either way, hope she's having fun.
